Fast and Pray

Yesterday, we read from Ezra and noted how we must pray. Further reading into Chapter 8:21-31 shows that he proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that they might humble themselves before God, to seek from Him the right way for  them and their little ones and all their possessions. So they fasted and entreated God for this, and He answered their prayers. Then they departed from the river of Ahava on the twelfth day of the first month, to go to Jerusalem and the hand of our God was upon them and He delivered them from the hand of the enemy and from ambush along the road. In times like these, may I suggest that we FAST AND PRAY solely for our beloved nation for any duration of days as our Lord leads us? We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. Day 187 - Have Fear of God Read: Psalm 145; Proverbs 6:28-31; Revelation 6; 2 Samuel 15-16 2 Samuel 15 & 16 15:13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”14 Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom.
