Day 216: Psalm 31, Proverbs 6:13-15, Hebrews 6, Nehemiah 9, 10

With Our ONE Life, We Can Make A Difference

Yesterday, my husband and I attended the wake service of Philip Mok Sew Kwong, the founder of Rumah Victory, which presently comprise 12 homes dedicated to assist drug addicts, orphans, delinquents and the elderly. There were so many people that we needed to park our car very far away. Philip Mok is no stranger to us as his life from a gang leader and drug addict to a leader in the drug rehabilitation ministry, is a testament to the Gospel’s life-changing power. With his ONE life, he had blessed thousands of people. Let us not forget to continue to do good works and help His people for God is not unjust to forget our work and labor of love which we have shown toward His name, as we have helped His people and continue to help them (Hebrews 6:10). But as for you, you meant evil against me; but  God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it  is this day, to save many people alive. We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
