Be An Overcomer

I am sure as parents, we will be very pleased if our children are able to overcome and triumph over challenges facing them. This is exactly why it is recorded in Psalm 41:11-13, that God was well pleased with the Psalmist because his enemy did not triumph over him. Further, the Psalmist said that  God upheld him in his integrity and set him before God's  face forever. We are bound to face challenges and difficulties in life, but if we are able to overcome all those, it certainly makes our Heavenly Father proud of us. In fact, there are many rewards for those who overcome as stipulated in the book of Revelation. We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
