Be More Diligent To Confirm Our Call and Election

Apostle Peter exhorted us to make every effort to confirm our calling and election. For if we do these things, we will never stumble and will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1:10-11). In the Old Testament, we have another "giant of faith", Job who testified that his foot had held fast to His steps, he had kept His way and not turned aside. He had not departed from the commandment of His lips and had treasured the words of His mouth more than his necessary food (Job 23:10-12). With these great men as our examples, let us be even more diligent to make our call and election sure as we await with eagerness the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Maranatha! Our Lord Comes! It was said that William Wilberforce who pushed and debated for a committee to consider the anti-slave trade petitions in the Parliament of England used letterheads that always had the word "Maranatha".
