Yesterday I wrote about the importance of having an increasing faith. Today, following the Psalmist in Psalm 13, we can see that he did not only TRUST God of His unfailing love, the Psalmist went on to REJOICE in his salvation and SING the Lord's praises as he RECALLED how good God had been to him. Henceforth, let us not only TRUST God but, REJOICE and RECALL His goodness and His unfailing love to us for indeed the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Let us pray the prayer by Andrew Murray, "May not a single moment of my life be spent outside the light, love and joy of God's presence and not a moment without the entire surrender of myself as a vessel for Him to fill full of His Spirit and His love." We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. Day 187 - Have Fear of God Read: Psalm 145; Proverbs 6:28-31; Revelation 6; 2 Samuel 15-16 2 Samuel 15 & 16 15:13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”14 Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
