As parents, have you ever promised your children to bring them for vacation or to purchase this and that? The children will remember and more often than not, we will fulfill our promises to them. Hence, if this is how we, earthly parents will do, how much more our Heavenly Father will do: He will do much more than we could ever imagine or fathom. In Genesis 28:15, He had fulfilled what He promised Jacob/ Israel when He said, "I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. Day 187 - Have Fear of God Read: Psalm 145; Proverbs 6:28-31; Revelation 6; 2 Samuel 15-16 2 Samuel 15 & 16 15:13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”14 Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that? This is our Bible - it will not hide - all the successes and failures of God's people are truthfully reported. Why did King David suffer this?
