Perhaps, our idea of Jesus is that He will ONLY love and will never curse. But, in Matthew 21:19, we read that Jesus "seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away". In the same chapter, Jesus spoke about the parable of the wicked vinepressers and He said in Matthew 21:43, that, "..the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it." From these verses, we can see the importance of bearing fruits. Jesus EXPECTS us to bear fruits for Him but He does not leave us alone to do it ourselves. He wants to help us.
