Put to the Cradle to be on the Cross

Blessed Christmas to All! We celebrate the birth of our Beloved Jesus Christ. Why would He come as a baby? Men have sinned against God and hence deserve to be punished. But Jesus committed no sins. In fact, Herod said for the 3rd time in Luke 23:22 that he found no reason to put HIm to the cross. But, the people cried out to release Barabbas, a rebellion and a murderer. Even the thief said that Jesus did nothing wrong. Therefore on this Christmas day, as we remember the birth of Jesus, we must know He Who had no sin was made sins purely and solely for our sake. He was born to die. He was put to the Cradle to be placed on the Cross. He came to take our place of Punishment so that we will enjoy Paradise forever (v41-43). We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
