On Christ The Solid Rock I Stand

My daughter just came back from the annual Girls' Christian Camp (GCC) yesterday. Their theme this year is "Stand Firm". As I read today's Psalm verses 1 & 2, I am so comforted by the fact that we can stand firm, cannot be moved and will stand forever by merely trusting in the Lord Who is like Mount Zion and as the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever. What a comfort! What a promise! Abraham Lincoln once said, "Be sure to put your feet in the right place and then stand firm." Therefore, my friends, I wish and pray that you will find Jesus Christ this Christmas as Jesus is the solid Rock that you must find to stand on forever . Jesus, the Rock is definitely the right place. We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. Day 187 - Have Fear of God Read: Psalm 145; Proverbs 6:28-31; Revelation 6; 2 Samuel 15-16 2 Samuel 15 & 16 15:13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”14 Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
