The Magic of Christmas is Not in the Presents But in His Presence

Christmas is just around the corner.  Many take the opportunity to travel and to have long vacation. How about us, believers? Our family believes that this season of time is the best time of the year to open our home to invite people to celebrate Christmas with us. I personally was invited to a home by a church member when I just became a Christian almost over 30 years ago. It was at that moment I felt so blessed to be in a Christian home celebrating true meaning of Christmas. Today's word of wisdom, Proverbs 17:19 says "whoever builds a high gate invites destruction". Hence, it is a reminder for us to open the gate of our home and invite people to celebrate true meaning of Christmas, instead of letting people think that Christmas is all about shopping, santa clause, presents and holidaying! Day 69: Psalm 49, Proverbs 25:4-6, 1 Corinthians 5, Genesis 49-50 Do Our Utmost For His Highest Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
