Day 332: Psalm 126, Proverbs 18:1-3, Luke 21, Ezekiel 36-37

Celebrate the Birth of A Saviour!

Imagine this scenario: a child was playing in the mud and hence his shoes and his feet were full of mud. As he wanted to enter his house, his Mom gently stopped him and said that he needed to wash his feet first. It is only after his feet were cleansed that his Mom allowed him to enter the house. It is precisely the same thing with our spiritual life. Many have tried to do good works to enter  Heaven. However, they have not addressed the issue of the uncleanliness of their hearts due the sins committed. In Ezekiel 36:25-27, God said, "I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them." We need to be cleansed first, then only we will have a new heart and a new spirit that enable us to obey God's commands. If the world needs good deeds, God would have sent a Philanthropist, if the world needs good teaching, God would have sent an Educationist but the world needs forgiveness and cleansing of our sins and that is why God sent a Saviour! Let us prepare ourselves to celebrate Christmas, the birthday of our Saviour, Jesus Christ!
