Let Us Boast In The Lord

The world praises the talented, favours the handsome and the beautiful and inclines towards the rich and famous. In Ezekiel 17:24, we read of how the Lord brought down the high tree and exalted the low tree, dried up the green tree and made the dry tree flourish. This is our Lord, the miracle-Worker. We may look down on the lowly but He exalted them. You may think that you are not talented but He will raise you up to the mountain heights as long as your sincere desire is to serve Him and to make Him known. In fact, God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. Day 69: Psalm 49, Proverbs 25:4-6, 1 Corinthians 5, Genesis 49-50 Do Our Utmost For His Highest Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; but  God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it  is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them. Genesis 50:19‭-‬21 (http://bible.com/114/gen.50.19-21.NKJV) When we hear stories of how the evil triumphs over the good, we are angry. If it happens in real life to us, we may question God. We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. Day 187 - Have Fear of God Read: Psalm 145; Proverbs 6:28-31; Revelation 6; 2 Samuel 15-16 2 Samuel 15 & 16 15:13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”14 Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
