Usually, we will listen to the words of a prophet, especially when he or she says that God has spoken to him or her. This is exactly happened in I Kings 13:18-26,  a prophet said to a man of God, “I too am a prophet as you are, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the Lord , saying, ‘Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.’ ” (He was lying to him.) The consequences were disastrous - “Thus says the Lord : ‘Because you have disobeyed the WORD of the Lord , and have not kept the commandment which the Lord your God commanded you,...“It is the man of God who was disobedient to the word of the Lord . Therefore the Lord has delivered him to the lion, which has torn him and killed him, according to the WORD of the Lord which He spoke to him.” We are living in end times, wherein we need to be extra cautious, watchful and vigilant as warned by Jesus Himself in Matthew 24:24-25. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
