Leaders are important. We need an upright, efficient and capable leaders who can lead us to greater heights.  Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. For we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing (2 Corinthians 2:14-16). Note that we have God as our Perfect Leader Who ALWAYS leads us in victory IN CHRIST. Wow! What a promise! We will ALWAYS experience constant victory! What is the condition?  Abide IN CHRIST! This is consistent with what our dear Lord Jesus Christ said in John 15:5, "I am the vine, you are the branches. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
