Do we know that the very fact that we believe in Jesus Christ is purely by God's grace? There is nothing so great about us, Christians that God has chosen us. In Acts 13:48, it is stated that ..."when the Gentiles heard this (means the Gospel), they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed." How we must really thank God that God appoints us to eternal life and because of the appointment, we believe. We have the capacity and capability to believe because God has appointed us to eternal life. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
