Day 52: Psalm 32, Proverbs 23:22-24, Romans 4, Genesis 15-16

Good Friday: God's Faithfulness
After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.” But Abram said, “Lord God , what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?” Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.” And he believed in the Lord , and He accounted it to him for righteousness.
Genesis 15:1-2, 5-6 NKJV

In this encounter between God and Abraham, we can see such cordial, sincere and intimate relationship. God Himself assured Abraham that God was his shield and his exceedingly great reward. Abraham was transparent and voiced out his doubts and disappointments of not having a child. God then brought him to look at the sky and promised him his descendants shall be as many as the stars. Abraham BELIEVED AND TRUSTED God's Word! This should be our approach - we enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus with confidence. We draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings because Jesus bore our sins on the cross and we now die to sins and live for righteousness (Hebrews 10:19, 22; 1 Peter 2:24). Today is Good Friday - let us pause and ponder on this amazing grace, faithfulness and love of God. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC (please click to view a visual)
