Day 43: Psalm 23, Proverbs 22: 25-27, Acts 23, Malachi 1-2

Giving Our Best
““Cursed is the cheat who has an acceptable male in his flock and vows to give it, but then sacrifices a blemished animal to the Lord. For I am a great king,” says the Lord Almighty, “and my name is to be feared among the nations.” Malachi‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

If an employer knows that his or her staff do not give their best but only half hearted service to the firm, we can reckon that the employer will be mad. As seen in today's verse, the Lord Amighty found out that the people offered Him blemished animal when they had acceptable male in their flock. God reckoned the person as cheat and cursed such person. Wow! This is serious - not being and giving our best to our King of kings and the Lord of lords will bring forth His wrath. With this in mind, it will help to stir in us the fear of God. Day 69: Psalm 49, Proverbs 25:4-6, 1 Corinthians 5, Genesis 49-50 Do Our Utmost For His Highest Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom.
