Day 47: Psalm 27, Proverbs 23:7-9, Acts 27, Genesis 5-6
Encounter God
For there stood by me this night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ Therefore take heart, men, for I believe God that it will be just as it was told me. However, we must run aground on a certain island.”
Acts 27:23-26 NKJV
We are familiar with the saying, "where there is no vision, the people perish." However, the actual wordings means where there is no revelation, people cast off restraint; but blessed is the one who heeds wisdom's instruction which is taken from Proverbs 29:18. Revelation here means revelation from God. How can we receive revelation from God if we do not spend time with Him? It boils down to setting aside time to meet and encounter Him to know Him better. Once the relationship with God is deepened, God will just reveal His thoughts to us, just like what happened to Apostle Paul where God had already revealed to him that no life would perish during the shipwreck (Acts 27:23-26). In Genesis 5:24 & 6:9, we read of how Enoch and Noah walked with God and therefore Enoch did not experience death as God just took him away and Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Genesis 6:8). Henrietta C. Mears said, "A man who walks with God always gets to his destination.” Henrietta C.
