Day 311: Psalm 119:57-64; Proverbs 15:31-33, Luke 1, Jeremiah 51-52

Do Not Arouse the Anger of the Lord

Yesterday, we read of how we must have faith to please God. Today, we saw two real incidents that emphasized this point. According to Luke 1:6, Zacharias and Elizabeth were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. Wow! They were termed blameless. But, when the angel said to him, “Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John", he did not believe. The results? The angel said, "behold, you will be mute and not able to speak until the day these things take place, because you did not believe my words which will be fulfilled in their own time.” On the other incident, when angel Gabriel pronounced to Mary, "behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus, after some clarifications,  Mary response was, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. Convinced? Once we know it is God's will, we better TRUST AND OBEY. I don't know about you but I do not want to arouse the anger of tbe Lord, for He said in Jeremiah 52:3, "For because of the anger of the Lord  this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, till He finally cast them out from His presence." https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC (please click this link to twitter to view a visual)

Day 69: Psalm 49, Proverbs 25:4-6, 1 Corinthians 5, Genesis 49-50 Do Our Utmost For His Highest Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. Day 187 - Have Fear of God Read: Psalm 145; Proverbs 6:28-31; Revelation 6; 2 Samuel 15-16 2 Samuel 15 & 16 15:13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”14 Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
