Take Heed : God's Word CLEANSES Us

Yesterday,  my beloved daughter became impatient and blurted some unpleasant words. Usually, she would seek for forgiveness but this time she hesitated, and I asked her why. She said what if she lose her temper and repeat the same offence? I guess many Christians do feel the same way. Seek forgiveness from God and then make the same mistakes again and hence, they feel like being hypocrites. The answer I gave my daughter was exactly in today's reading of Psalm, "How can a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed according to Your word. With my whole heart I have sought You; Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments! Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You." The only way we might not sin against God is to KEEP ON reading God's Word, meditate, memorize and heed His Word. We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. Day 187 - Have Fear of God Read: Psalm 145; Proverbs 6:28-31; Revelation 6; 2 Samuel 15-16 2 Samuel 15 & 16 15:13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”14 Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
