We continue to look at the life of Eli, the priest. In 1 Samuel 3:13-14, God further said He would judge his family forever because of the sin he KNEW about; his sons blasphemed God, and he failed to restrain them. ...The guilt of Eli’s house will never be atoned for by sacrifice or offering. In the New Testament, in Hebrews 10:26, it is stated that "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left" This is serious where the guilt will never be atoned for and no sacrifice for sin is left. Both these verses in Old and New Testament stated the same reason: no repentance. Eli knew and yet did NOTHING about it. In Hebrews, the warning is for those who have knowledge yet DELIBERATELY keep ON sinning. Let us take heed and repent NOW for we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:1-2). https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
Day 183 - What Pleases Jesus Matters Read: Psalm 141; Proverbs 6:12-15; Revelation 2; 2 Samuel 7-8 “Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols.” Revelation 2:20 NKJV http://bible.us/114/rev.2.20.nkjv I have the privilege to complete two modules of MBA course in Oxford University recently. What impressed me most is the history of this great prestigious University. John and Charles Wesley's prayer meetings held there laid the foundations of the Methodist Church today. The way of teaching is based on the Disputations which was started 600 years ago in the Divinity School where 2 Professors would present their cases to determine who would be more persuasive. Hence, every student In Oxford is expected weekly to prepare 2500 words of essay whereby the lecturer will debate with the students and challenge his...
