In 1 Samuel 10:8, Samuel gave a clear express instruction to Saul “Go down ahead of me to Gilgal. I will surely come down to you to sacrifice burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, but you must wait seven days until I come to you and tell you what you are to do.” But, in 1 Samuel 13:8-9, we read of how Saul  waited seven days, the time set by Samuel; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and Saul’s men began to scatter. So he said, “Bring me the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings.” And Saul offered up the burnt offering. With this, Saul showed disobedience and impatience, 2 elements which are very crucial, especialy in leadership. God desires our obedience more than any sacrifice. He wants us to depend on Him and not be self-reliant no matter how uneasy or inconvenience or pressurising the situation is. We know the grave consequences that Saul had to face - he lost his kingship because he had not kept God's command (13:14). Let us take heed and be watchful, vigilant and wait upon the Lord at all times. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
