In Mark 8:33, St. Peter was rebuked when he tried to justify that Jesus would not die on the Cross. The rebuke was so severe that Jesus compared it as if satan was speaking through St. Peter. What we can learn from here is that when we set our minds on things of men and not of God, we may be used by the evil ones. Even in Old Testament, God had time and again reminded the Israelites to bring a freewill offering to the Lord , with hearts willingly bringing material for all kinds of work which the Lord COMMANDED to be done. They were expected to do according to all that the Lord has commanded. Henceforth, seek to please the Lord and do what He exactly wants us to do and not what we think or assume.
