God spoke to Moses in Leviticus 6:12-13 that the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and ...a fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out. Similarly, we are called to present ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God by not conforming to the world but be transformed by the renewing of our mind. During this Chinese New Year, let our lives be such that it is a living sacrifice on the altar, be the fire that is always burning and radiating heat that will not only give warmth to the people around us but as a light to those who are still living in darkness.
