Even king Artaxerxes and his counsellors FREELY offered silver and gold to the God of Israel and even freely allowed them to use the money from the King’s treasury to buy whatever they needed. Not only that, the priests, Levites, musicians, gatekeepers, temple servants or any worker in the house of God were exempted from tax! What a privilege to serve God then! Ezra was seen to possess wisdom from God and hence was put to be in charge of appointing judges and to teach others. These came about because of the good testimonies shone forth from both Nehemiah and Ezra at that time where both were committed to the work of God (Nehemiah committed to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem’s temple) and the Word of God (Ezra). What impressed me most is the history of this great prestigious University. John and Charles Wesley's prayer meetings held there laid the foundations of the Methodist Church today. The way of teaching is based on the Disputations which was started 600 years ago in the Divinity School where 2 Professors would present their cases to determine who would be more persuasive.
