Day 113: Love Him and Call Upon Him Read: Psalm 91; Proverbs 29:22-24; Ephesians 1; Numbers 15-16 ““Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:14-16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/psa.91.14-16.nkjv What a beautiful promises from our loving Heavenly Father! When we set our love upon Him and call upon Him, He will  1) deliver us 2) set us on high 3) answer our prayers 4) be with us especially in times of trouble 5) honor us 6) satisfy us with long life 7) show us His salvation What a deal! What are we still waiting for? Let us love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength! And call upon Him daily! Amen! #devotion #promises #callHim #loveHim #deliverance #answertoprayers #longlife #salva
Day 112: Desire & Dwell in God's Presence Read: Psalm 90; Proverbs 29:19-21; Galatians 6; Numbers 13-14 Numbers 13 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel; from each tribe of their fathers you shall send a man, every one a leader among them.” Numbers 14:7-9,40-43 7 and they (Joshua & Caleb) spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: “The land we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. 8 If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, ‘a land which flows with milk and honey.’[a] 9 Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them.” 40 And they rose early in the morning and went up to the top of the mountain, saying, “Here we are, and we will go up to the place which the Lord has p
Day 111: Liberated to Live Right Read: Psalm 89; Proverbs 29:16-18; Galatians 5; Numbers 11-12 “For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭ 5:13-14 , 24-25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/gal.5.13-14,24-25.nkjv “But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was aroused against the people, and the LORD struck the people with a very great plague. So he called the name of that place Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had yielded to craving.” ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭11:33-34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/num.11.33-34.nkjv All of us have cravings - it is j
Day 110: Be Christlike Read: Psalm 88; Proverbs 29:13-15; Galatians 4; Numbers 9-10 “The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/pro.29.15.nkjv My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you,” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭ 4:19 ‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/gal.4.19.nkjv No parents would want their children to be bad. All parents' desires are to see that their children grow up to be successful and their success would become their pride. In fact, as Christians' parents, the ultimate success will be to see that Christ is formed in our children. For lack of a better word, we want to "clone" our children to be Christlike. The process may be painful as it involves rod and rebuke, just as shown in Proverbs 29:15 that a child left alone without rebuke or rod would bring shame to the parents. Let us take heed as parents and children to mak
Day 109: Believe in Jesus Today Read: Psalm 87; Proverbs 29:10-12; Galatians 3; Numbers 7-8 Numbers 7:21-23 21  one young bull, one ram, and one male lamb in its first year, as a burnt offering; 22  one kid of the goats as a sin offering; 23  and as the sacrifice of peace offerings: two oxen, five rams, five male goats, and five male lambs in their first year.    Pursuant to the passage above, it can be noted that each leader of the tribe of Israel was expected to offer burnt offering, sin offering and peace offering daily. One day one leader was expected to offer the sacrifices for and on behalf of Israelites. Now, our dear Lord Jesus Christ Who died on the Cross for and on behalf of the world had dealt with this requirement once and for all! He atoned for our sins by His precious blood and hence we are reconciled with God the Father. All we need to do is to repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our  Saviour and Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:17-19 says:  17 Therefore if anyone
Day 108: We are Abraham's seeds and co-heirs with Christ Read: Psalm 87; Proverbs 29:10-12; Galatians 3; Numbers 7-8 “Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” http://bible.com/114/gal.3.24-25,27,29.nkjv What a privilege that God has given us - that if we belonged to Christ, we are encrafted into Abraham's lineage and we are now heirs to whatever God had promised Abraham. The promise given to Abraham is ours as well such as in Genesis 12:2-3, "I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” What an honour that we are now
Day 107 : God Will Surely Empower and Enable Us Read: Psalm 86;  Proverbs 29:7-9; Galatians 2; Numbers 5-6 Psalm 86 15 But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth. 16 Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me! Give Your strength to Your servant, And save the son of Your maidservant. 17 Show me a sign for good, That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, Because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me. How true that our God is full of compassion and grace. He is long-suffering and abundant in mercy and truth. O Lord, truly we are heartsick when we are ill-treated especially we are accused or hated with no cause. The Psalmist here prayed that those who hate him be put to shame. The point here is not to take revenge but just to show that our Lord has helped us and comforted us and everything good will be given to us. This is in line with Romans 12:19-21 where there is a direct imperative for Chr
Day 106 : God Will Always Give Us The Best Read: Psalm 86;  Proverbs 29:7-9; Galatians 2; Numbers 5-6 Day 107: Privilege To Have Holy Spirit to enable us Galatians 2 6 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified. 21 I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.” How important that we are reminded again that we are justified by the blood of Jesus. We have to remember that we are unable to save ourselves - it is not through any good works or hard work but solely and purely by His work in the cross that we could be saved from the power of sins.  Once we are saved from the power of sin, we then have the freedom to choose to do right and to do good works. We are saved for good works and hence to
Day 104 - God Will Provide A Way Read: Psalm 84; Proverbs 29:1-3; Ephesians 5; Numbers 1-2 “The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the covenant law so that my wrath will not fall on the Israelite community. The Levites are to be responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the covenant law.” The Israelites did all this just as the Lord commanded Moses.” ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭1:53-54‬ ‭NIV‬‬ http://bible.com/111/num.1.53-54.niv Do take heed of God's wrath. It means that hell is real. Punishment is real. Do not take God for granted. He is full of righteousness and justice and hence it is His nature to right a wrong and to see the wrongs are punished. However, as seen from the passage, God provided a way out. The Levites were to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the covenant law so that His wrath would not fall on the Israelite community. To set up their tents around the covenant law means to put God's Word in the c
Day 105 : Serve God with joy and fear of the Lord Read: Psalm 85;  Proverbs 29:4-6; Galatians 1; Numbers 3-4 Numbers 4 Aaron and his sons shall go in and appoint each of them to his service and his task. 20 But they shall not go in to watch while the holy things are being covered, lest they die.” 31 And this is what they must carry as all their service for the tabernacle of meeting: the boards of the tabernacle, its bars, its pillars, its sockets, 32 and the pillars around the court with their sockets, pegs, and cords, with all their furnishings and all their service; and you shall assign to each man by name the items he must carry. 49 According to the commandment of the Lord they were numbered by the hand of Moses, each according to his service and according to his task; thus were they numbered by him, as the Lord commanded Moses. From the above few verses, we can glean that God is systematic. He organises everything in an orderly manner. He is detailed as well. Even
Day 103 - Pray For Wise Friends Read: Psalm 84;  Proverbs 29:1-3; Ephesians 5; Numbers 1-2 “Whoever loves wisdom makes his father rejoice, But a companion of harlots wastes his wealth.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29:3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/pro.29.3.nkjv “A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭29:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬ http://bible.com/111/pro.29.3.niv From just this one verse, we can learn that to have wisdom is TO BRING JOY TO PARENTS! It means to make our parents happy and rejoice over us. Hence, wherever our journey of life is, we must work hard to make our parents proud of us. So, if there is a friend who distract us from honoring our parents, it is like joining the company of prostitutes whose sole purpose is to make money for their own purposes. Take heed with whom we make friends and go out with. The world is full of wolves that come in sheep skin or devils that disguise themselves like angels. Always confide i
