The Bible contains over 2000 prophesies that have been fulfilled, many with very specific details. Bear in mind that all prophesies in the Bible that are due are ALL fulfilled. Hence, we are talking about 100 per cent accuracy here. In fact, God Himself threw this challenge in Isaiah 41:22-23 “Tell us, you idols, what is going to happen.....Or declare to us the things to come, tell us what the future holds, so we may know that you are gods...." Further in Isaiah 48:5, He said "Therefore I told you these things long ago; before they happened I announced them to you so that you could not say, ‘My images brought them about; my wooden image and metal god ordained them." Henceforth, we must read Matthew 24 thoroughly to see what our dear Lord Jesus Himself said about the signs of Endtimes and get ourselves ready and prepared to see the fulfillment of these last few prophesies. If Israelites in Exodus 12:11, were told to eat their Passover with a belt on their waist, sandals o
Our dear Lord Jesus Himself said in Matthew 22:39 that we shall see Him no more until we say "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" For indeed how important that we come and do all things in the Name of the Lord. King David knew that the Name of the God of Jacob would defend him, the Name of God was a Banner to him and that he did not trust in chariots  nor horses, BUT, he just remembered the Name of the Lord (Psalm 20:1,5,7). Let us then, know our God more intimately, know His Name, know that He is ELOHIM, Mighty Creator; EL ROI, the God who sees us; YAHWEH TSEBAOTH, the Lord of Hosts; YAHWEH TSURI, the Lord my Rock; YAHWEH ROI, the Lord is my Shepherd; YAHWEH TSIDQENU, the Lord our Righteousness; EL ELYON, God Most High etc. He wants to show His Power in us and that His Name be declared in all the earth. Read Exodus 9:16. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
In Exodus 8:22-23 , we read of how the Lord SET APART the land of Goshen, in which Israelites dwelt, that no swarms of  flies shall be there, in order that the Egyptians may KNOW that He was the Lord in the midst of the land. God will make a difference between His people and the rest. Further, in Exodus 9:4, the Lord made further difference between the livestock of Israel and the livestock of Egypt. So nothing shall die of all that belongs to the children of Israel. If God in the Old Testament took effort to make the distinction, He expects us to make the difference as well. He expects us to SET ourselves APART and to be differrent from the rest of the world so that people may KNOW that Jesus is Lord in our lives. In a great house, there are vessels of gold and silver, wood and clay. Determine to SET APART ourselves to be a vessel for God for honor, sanctified and useful for our beloved Master. Read 2 Timothy 2:20-22. https://twitter.com/EsherOngHC
Perhaps, our idea of Jesus is that He will ONLY love and will never curse. But, in Matthew 21:19, we read that Jesus "seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away". In the same chapter, Jesus spoke about the parable of the wicked vinepressers and He said in Matthew 21:43, that, "..the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it." From these verses, we can see the importance of bearing fruits. Jesus EXPECTS us to bear fruits for Him but He does not leave us alone to do it ourselves. He wants to help us. He invites us to abide in Him and He will abide in us to bear fruit for without Him we can do nothing  Read John 15:5-8 https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
Yesterday, I wrote how King David specifically prayed to God to keep him as the apple of His eye. Today, when I read Matthew 20:32-33, it says that when 2 BLIND men cried out to Jesus, He  stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” I was thinking that Jesus was asking the OBVIOUS. However, this is exactly how it works with God. He is our Heavenly Loving Father, who loves to hear His children talking and asking from Him. Being a mother myself, I too would love my own children to just talk with me and ask me for their needs even though I know exactly what they need. Likewise, let us go to our loving Heavenly Father and express our hearts out to Him, telling Him intimately everything and not to assume that He knows. Even though He knows, He loves to hear us out. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
We know that King David was the apple of God's eye. God was very pleased with him. We can get a glimpse of what King David prayed in Psalm 17, "..You will hear me, O God; Incline Your ear to me, and hear my speech. Show Your marvelous lovingkindness by Your right hand, O You who save those who trust in  You From those who rise up against  them. Keep me as the apple of Your eye; Hide me under the shadow of Your wings, From the wicked who oppress me, From my deadly enemies who surround me." King David asked to be the apple of God's eye. His prayer was bold, specific and detailed. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. In Genesis 50:24, before Joseph passed away, he said to his brothers, “....God will surely come to your aid and take you up out of this land to the land He promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” This is the level of faith that Joseph had - that God WILL SURELY come to our aid and He WILL DELIVER what He promised. In times of adversity, turmoil and difficulty, we are sometimes overwhelmed by what the incidences and occurences that are beyond us.  What a comfort to know God WILL SURELY help us and WILL DELIVER us from our adversities to victories. We just need to be joyful in hope, be patient in affliction and faithful in prayers. Read Romans 12:12. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
In Jesus' Own Words in Matthew 18:10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven." Here, it reveals a very important FACT, that is, each and everyone of us has an angel guarding and protecting us and our angels see the face of our Heavenly Father in Heaven! Angels are ministering spirits sent forth in God's heavenly army with the main function of assisting and ministering those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14). It is always the will of our Heavenly Father for all to inherit salvation and that none would perish as stated in Matthew 18:14. Let us work harder to bring the message of salvation to many more people around us with this assurance that we always have angels assisting and ministering us and for us. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
In Matthew 16:3, our dear Lord Jesus chastised the Pharisees and the Sadducees by saying ‘ It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.' If our dear Lord Jesus expected these religious leaders in His days to discern the signs of the times, it means that He too expects us to be watchful and pray NOW. In Luke 21:36, Jesus further exhorted us to watch..and pray always that we may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.Henceforth, let us be alert, be watchful and take heed to take up the duty of a watchman as said in Ezekiel 33:1-11. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC

Our dear Lord Jesus Himself said in Matthew 16:27, that "For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works." What a comfort! What a hope! We may be tired of serving Him! We may be exhausted of all the work and tasks right in front of us! We may want to call it quit! But, hold on...Jesus Himself promised that He will return! He will return to reward! Even in 1 Corinthians 3:8, it says, "...each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor." Hence, hang on there! Let us continue to serve Him with fervency and ardency! He will come back! He will come back very soon! I Corinthians 16:22 says "O Lord, come!" Yesterday I wrote about the importance of having an increasing faith. Today, following the Psalmist in Psalm 13, we can see that he did not only TRUST God of His unfailing love, the Psalmist went on to REJOICE in his salvation and SING the Lord's praises as he RECALLED how good God had been to him. Henceforth, let us not only TRUST God but, REJOICE and RECALL His goodness and His unfailing love to us for indeed the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10). Let us pray the prayer by Andrew Murray, "May not a single moment of my life be spent outside the light, love and joy of God's presence and not a moment without the entire surrender of myself as a vessel for Him to fill full of His Spirit and His love." Amen. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
In Matthew 14:30-31, Apostle Peter started with faith when he took the first step to walk on the water but when he saw the wind and waves around him, his faith dwindled and hence he began to sink. Jesus reached out to him and asked him not to doubt but increased in faith. It is by faith we first came to know the Lord. How important that we need to learn to increase our faith in Him more and more especially when we face trials and temptations. In fact, J.R.R. Tolkien said  "Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.” May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace as we TRUST  in Him, so that we may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13) https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
In Genesis 40 & 41, we read of how Joseph was imprisoned NOT due to his fault at all. In fact, he was put in prison because he stood firm NOT to sin against God. There are times when we were put through difficulties and inconveniences just because we wanted to help and sincerely render kindness to someone. Psalm 73:23-24 echoed somewhat similar situations and at the end of it, the Psalmist concluded that God was always with him; God held him by His right hand. God guided him with His counsel, and the Psalmist had the fullest confidence that God would take him into glory. Let us then, put our trust and confidence in our Lord of lords and King of kings who knows all, loves us and understands all that we are going through. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
Jacob/Israel used to recall His intimate time with God where he could describe God  as One who answered him in the day of his distress and Who had been with him wherever he had gone. He set up stone pillar to remind himself of the place God talked with him (refer Genesis 35:3,14-15). Learning from him, let us not forget God's goodness for us and how He had answered our prayers. One good practice would be to write down our prayer requests and to keep the answers to prayers in a journal (like the stone pillar) so that we can always refer and recall His goodness to us. Dear Lord, help me to count my blessings and to know that You will never leave me nor forsake me, You are holding my hands to go through this week. Thank You, Lord. AMEN! https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
In the parable of the sower in Matthew 13, we read of the seed that was sown along the path but was snatched away because the person does not UNDERSTAND the message whereas those who hear and UNDERSTAND yield a harvest of hundred times fold. So, the difference is understanding. How do we ensure we understand the Word of God? Do pray, go to church and listen to the sermon and even stay back for Bible Study! Remember the devil knows the Bible as well but misquoted as shown in Matthew 4 when he tempted Jesus with verses! Resolve today to UNDERSTAND the Word of God better and deeper! https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
We sometimes go through life as if there is no ending to life, no One to judge us and as if we are not accountable to anyone. Phrases like, "Be happy and be merry now"; "Die, die lah, it is ok, better still..I won't know anything after death" and "Just do it...enjoy now" are often heard. However, the Word of God in Revelation 11:18 clearly says that the time would come for judging not only the living but the dead as well, rewarding the servants and the people who revere God's Name and finally to destroy those who destroy the earth. Let us take heed and take stock of our life NOW before it is too late. God is with us..He will strengthen us and help us; He will uphold us with His righteous right hand. Read Isaiah 41:10. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
I guess there is no one who does not want success and protection. In fact, we are in a quest to search for more recipes for success, to search for more research and development (R & D) for higher technology of weapons for protection. With all these R&D, is our world a safer place to live in? The Bible offers a simple solution. In Proverbs 2:7, it is said that "He holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless." We just have to live uprightly, then success is IN STORE. We just need to pursue a way of life that is blameless, we will be shielded from harm. What a simple solution to world's complicated problems! The question is whether are we willing, ready and actually live uprightly and adopt a blameless lifestyle? We need the Holy Spirit to empower us! Let us call on Him to help us now.
God did not allow Laban to harm Jacob/Israel as seen in Genesis 31:7. In fact, in various occasions, in Genesis 31:12 & 42, God assured Jacob that God had seen his hardship and the toil of his hands. We knew subsequently how Jacob flourished and prospered more than Laban. What a Blessed Assurance that God knows and sees. He knows exactly what you are going through and how you  have endured and tolerated. Let us draw comfort from what Jacob had experienced and the promise in Hebrews 13:5 that "He will never leave us nor forsake us." Lord, I want to take refuge in You, knowing that You know everything about me and what I am going through now. You have the Best in store for me as You are El Roi, the God Who sees me. Amen! https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
If God set boundaries for His people around Mount Sinai in the time of Moses as seen in Exodus 19:23, how important then that we set boundaries for our children and even for ourselves not to go beyond certain set limits in ALL aspects of our lives. It was said that Billy Graham set a limit for himself that he would never ever sit in a car alone with a lady apart from his wife and daughter. He would rather walk than to take that lift. Now, let us spend some time to set boundaries in ALL aspects of our lives and make sure we stick to the boundaries set at ALL times and at ALL costs. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
As parents, have you ever promised your children to bring them for vacation or to purchase this and that? The children will remember and more often than not, we will fulfill our promises to them. Hence, if this is how we, earthly parents will do, how much more our Heavenly Father will do: He will do much more than we could ever imagine or fathom. In Genesis 28:15, He had fulfilled what He promised Jacob/ Israel when He said, "I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Recall what God has promised you. He will keep His promises! https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
In 1 Chronicles 17:11, 13, we read of how God revealed to King David that  when his days were over and he were to be with his ancestors, God would raise up his  offspring to succeed him, one of his own sons, and God would establish his kingdom. God would be his Father, and he would be God's son. God would never take His love away from him.. What a promise! We knew this promise came to be fulfilled in King Solomon, whom had been so blessed as the wisest man on earth(1 Kings 4:30-34). We too have been granted this promise through Jesus Christ! In John 1:12, it is promised that "Yet to all who did receive Him (Jesus Christ), to those who believed in His name, he gave the right to become children of God". This is the extend of God's love to us, He was willing to die, suffer and be crucified on the Cross so that you and I can become His children and enjoy eternity with Him.  Why wait? Receive Him today. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
How important that we must know God and all the aspects of His character and attributes so that we can speak rightly about Him. His Name, El Shadday depicts His Might; El Olam, the Eternal God; Yahweh Yireh, The Lord Will Provide; Yahweh Rophe, the Lord Who Heals; Yahweh Nissi, the Lord my banner; Yahweh Tsidqenu, the Lord our Righteousness; Yahweh Shalom, the Lord is Peace and so on. By revealing His Name, God made Himself not only accessible but vulnerable as not only people could call on His Name in prayer but dishonour His Name by living a life that contradicts His character. In Job 42:8,10 God has chastised the friends of Job for not spoken of Him what is right and when Job prayed for his friends, God restored Job's losses twice as much as he had before. Let us then not only call on His Name in prayers but live a life that showforth His Characters.
In Genesis 18:19, the Lord has spoken to Abraham that He had chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just, so that the Lord will bring about for Abraham what He has promised him. Notice that God gave a condition to Abraham before He brought about for him what He promised and the condition is that Abraham must direct his children and his household to keep the way of the Lord! How about us? Have we spoken and taught our children about spiritual matters? Is their spiritual development our highest priority or just their academic results? Let us be diligent in revealing God's Words and His Ways to our next generation as this is the greatest achievement of parenthood. Read Proverbs 1:8-9 and Deuteronomy 4:9 & 6:7-9.
In reading Genesis, you will notice that Abraham built an altar to the Lord whenever he came to a new place (Genesis 12:6-9 & 13:4,18). At the altar, he would call on the name of the Lord. Altars represent the memorial place where we encounter God. It may not be a physical place but we definitely need to establish one in our hearts. As often as we meet, we must have the Holy Communion, the grandest of all altars where the final Sacrifice was made, that is the Son of God was sacrificed at the Cross to reconcile mankind to God, to make possible the forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life. Why not come to the altar TODAY and accept this Sacrifice to ensure you receive the gift of eternal life? Read Corinthians 11:24-28.
In Genesis 13:10-11, it is written,"Lot looked around and saw that the whole plain of the Jordan toward Zoar was well watered, like the garden of the Lord , like the land of Egypt....So Lot chose FOR HIMSELF the whole plain of the Jordan and set out toward the east." We know the ending of this story and the consequences of Lot's choice - the plain that seemed well watered, Sodom and Gomorrah were completely destroyed due to the sins and wickedness of the people there. When we decide and choose solely for ourselves, without praying and seeking His will, the tendency is that we decide from worldly perspective. Let us abide in our dear Lord Jesus and pray and seek that we will do nothing but His will. Read John 15:4-9 & Colossians 3:1-3.
May we find grace in God's sight just as Moses in Exodus 33:17 that He would do the thing that Moses asked as He was pleased with Moses and knew Moses by name. This shows an intimate and a very close relationship between Moses and God. Therefore, we should also approach God with confidence and seek to relate with Him closely and intimately. As we are going to church later, let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (Hebrews 4:16)  When we have confidence toward Him, He will hear us if we ask anything according to His will. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him. Read 1 John 5:13-15
The Psalmist in Psalms 2 understood that  the wrath of God was kindled but for a little while. This verse, "The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love" is repeatedly found in Psalm 103:8, Numbers 14:18, Psalm 145:8, Exodus 34:6, Nehemiah 9:31, Joel 2:13 and Psalm 86:5,15. We then can take comfort that God is always compassionate and gracious. He is wanting and longing to reach out to us. We are to do what the Psalmist in Psalm 2:1 did that is just to believe in Him and not to be bitter with Him when things do not turn out the ways we expect. His ways and His thoughts are higher than our ways and our thoughts. Read Isaiah 55:8,9.
All of us like to have stability. We want to see a tree that is planted by the streams of water to be sturdy and firm despite heavy rain or thunderstorm. We want to see that the tree yields its fruit in season and the leaf does not wither. This is exactly the picture given by the psalmist in Psalm 1 of the Bible. What is the secret? In Psalm 1:2,3, it says to take delight in the Word of God and meditates on His law day and night and the promise is whatever we do shall prosper. Why not start the year by starting to read His Word at least a chapter a day? Be like the Apostle Peter, to take the 1st step out of the boat to walk on the water. Even though subsequently he was afraid, Jesus IMMEDIATELY reached out His hand and took hold of him. Read Matthew 14:28-33.
