Day 74: Let's Go To Church Read: Psalm 55, Proverbs 25:24-28, 1 Corinthians 11, Exodus 11-12 ‘So this day shall be to you a memorial; and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord throughout your generations. You shall keep it as a feast by an everlasting ordinance. And it shall be, when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’ Ex 12:14‭, ‬26 NKJV http://bible.com/114/exo.12.14-26.NKJV Exodus chapters 11 and 12 gave the account of how God delivered the people of Israel by passing over homes with blood on their doors. It was the last plague that God caused to happen that eventually enabled the Israelites to be free from the bondage of slavery. God instructed that the day be set aside as a memorial day and shall be kept as a feast to the Lord. Subsequently, when the children asked the reason for the feast, it would be a tremendous opportunity to share the miracles that God had performed, to recount their blessings and to remember God's goodness to them.
Day 73: Run To Jesus Read: Psalm 54, Proverbs 25:21-23, 1 Corinthians 10, Exodus 9-10 Therefore send now and gather your livestock and all that you have in the field, for the hail shall come down on every man and every animal which is found in the field and is not brought home; and they shall die.” ’ ” Ex 9:19 NKJV http://bible.com/114/exo.9.19.NKJV I heard of a story of how a rabbit was eaten by an eagle when a family has fogotten to cover the lid of the rabbit's shed that they made and thus exposed the rabbit. In today's passage in the Old Testament, one of the plagues that was sent upon Egypt was the heavy hail that came down on every man and every animal found in the field and not brought home. Hence, how we need to come under the covering of our spiritual authority. We need to have a spiritual "lid" covering us. We need to "go home" to take refuge to be safe, just as stated in Proverbs 18:10, "the name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righ
Day 72: Live For The Glory Of Jesus Read: Psalm 53, Proverbs 25:18-20, 1 Corinthians 9, Exodus 7-8 Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.  And everyone who competes for  the  prize is temperate in all things. Now they do  it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for  an imperishable crown.  Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one  who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified. 1Co 9:24‭-‬27 NKJV http://bible.com/114/1co.9.24-27.NKJV In the recently concluded Olympics, we have seen how the participants had put in the effort and skills and did their best in Olympics with a view to win the Gold! This is exactly what Apoatle Paul in today's passage said that everyone run to receive the prize. Similarly, we have a spiritual race as well. We, Christians will appear befo
Day 56: Rejoice Over The Success Of Others Now it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these parables, that He departed from there. When He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, “Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?” So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.”  Now He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief. Mt 13:53‭-‬58 NKJV http://bible.com/114/mat.13.53-58.NKJV By right, when our loved ones or even our friends or acquaintances achieve something, we should rejoice together with them. Nevertheless, we do know that there are people who are not so. Instead of rejoicing, they are enviou
Day 54: Be Blest To Bless Others Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field,  which indeed is the least of all the seeds; but when it is grown it is greater than the herbs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.” Another parable He spoke to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.” All these things Jesus spoke to the multitude in parables; and without a parable He did not speak to them, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.” Mt 13:31‭-‬35 NKJV http://bible.com/114/mat.13.31-35.NKJV I love mustard. The wonderful fact about this mustard is that it starts off with a small seed but it will grow to be at least 12 feet tall which is double the size
“Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field; but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way. But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.” ’ ”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭13:24-30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/mat.13.24-30.nkjv “He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.
