Day 150 - Resolve To Revere God Read: Psalm 119:81-88; Proverbs 2:19-22; Hebrews 3; Joshua 21-22 Hebrews 3 8  Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, 9  Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years. 10  Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, 'They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.' 11  So I swore in My wrath, 'They shall not enter My rest.' " 12  Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13  but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14  For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, 18  And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 19  So we see that they could not enter in b
Day 149 - To Save Us Read: Psalm 119:73-80; Proverbs 2:16-18; Hebrews 2; Joshua 19-20 Hebrew 2 17  Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18  For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. Christmas is just over. But, the true meaning of Christmas must always be remembered. Why did Jesus need to come as a Baby? Recently, a kitten fell into a drain. My neighbour and I were trying our level best to rescue the kitten, even to the extend of going down into the drain. However, the kitten ran away from us. I called the “Bomba” (fire brigade) to come. 6 strong men came and went down into the drain as well. The kitten was still running away from us and up until today, the kitten is still in the drain. What a good illustration as to why Jesus had to come as a Baby in the form of a hu
Day 148 - Possess What God Has Given Us Read: Psalm 119:65-72; Proverbs 2:13-15; Hebrews 1; Joshua 17-18 Joshua 18 3  Then Joshua said to the children of Israel: "How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers has given you? 4  Pick out from among you three men for each tribe, and I will send them; they shall rise and go through the land, survey it according to their inheritance, and come back to me. God reminded me that I cannot be complacent and neglected to go and possess the “land” which the Lord God has given to us. We are to go out and to make disciples for the Lord, to bring in more people to God’s Kingdom in obedience to Jesus’ Last Command but our First Concern (Matthew 28:19-20). In fact, Christmas season is the best time for us to reach out and bless the community to tell them the Greatest Story ever told that Baby Jesus was born to die for us so that we will not die an eternal death (hell) but to enjoy and
Day 147 - Reason For The Season Read: Psalm 119:57-64; Proverbs 2:10-12; Philemon 1; Joshua 15-16 Joshua 15 17  So Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife. 18  Now it was so, when she came to him, that she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. So she dismounted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, "What do you wish?" 19  She answered, "Give me a blessing; since you have given me land in the South, give me also springs of water." So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs. How we just need to ask. Ask and we shall receive. The daughter of Caleb, Achsah knew her father well. She knew that the father has abundance and will be gracious and merciful to her. Similarly, we know our Heavenly Father has more than we can ever imagine or think. His love for us is so wide and long, high and deep that we shall never comprehend the extend of love He has for us. Suffice that we kno
Day 145 - The Secret Success of a Leader Read: Psalm 119:41-48; Proverbs 2:4-6; Titus 2; Joshua 11-12 Joshua 11 15 As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses. There is no doubt that Joshua was a good leader. Here we have a glimpse as to his secret of success. He was obedient to his mentor, Moses. The words used are, “left nothing undone of ALL that the Lord had commanded Moses”. To be a good leader, we must first obey our leader. As Christians, our leader is none other than our Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lord Jesus Christ. Are there areas in our lives that we ourselves have not been obedient to Jesus? Are we still struggling to to be obedient ourselves? Learn from Joshua who had gone before us who showed us the secret of success of a leader. #devotion #leadership #SuccessOfALeader #success #mentor #obedient https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
Day 146 - Wholly Follow the Lord Read: Psalm 119:49-56; Proverbs 2:7-9; Titus 3; Joshua 13-14 “Nevertheless my brethren who went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but I wholly followed the LORD my God. So Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God.’ And now, behold, the LORD has kept me alive, as He said, these forty-five years, ever since the LORD spoke this word to Moses while Israel wandered in the wilderness; and now, here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will be with
Day 144 - Teach Me the Way of God Read: Psalm 119:33-40;Proverbs 2:1-3; Titus 1; Joshua 9-10 Psalm 119 33 Teach me, LORD, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end. 34 Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart. 35 Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. 36 Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. 37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word. 38 Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared. 39 Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good. 40 How I long for your precepts! In your righteousness preserve my life. What a good prayer that this part of the Psalm has taught us! The Psalmist here asked the Lord to teach him God’s Words SO THAT he may obey the Word of God to the end! He asked for understanding SO THAT he may keep the law with all his heart. He asked that God fulfil His promise
Day 143 - Love and Law Read: Psalm 119:25-32;Proverbs 1:30-33; 2 Tim 4; Joshua 7-8 Joshua 8 30 Now Joshua built an altar to the Lord God of Israel in Mount Ebal, 32 And there, in the presence of the children of Israel, he wrote on the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he had written. 34 And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and the cursings, according to all that is written in the Book of the Law. 35 There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded which Joshua did not read before all the assembly of Israel, with the women, the little ones, and the strangers who were living among them. After God has delivered Ai to the Israelites, Joshua built an altar to the Lord God as a sign of thanksgiving and worship to God. Subsequently, he wrote the law of Moses and read ALL of what Moses had written. This is noteworthy to show the importance of God’s law which is our Bible today. We must continually read His Words so that we are prepared for Kingdom’s
Day 142: Blessed Assurance Read: Psalm 119:17-24;Proverbs 1:27-29; 2 Tim 3; Joshua 5-6 Joshua 5 12 Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year. 13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, "Are You for us or for our adversaries?" 14 So He said, "No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, "What does my Lord say to His servant?" 15 Then the Commander of the Lord's army said to Joshua, "Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy." And Joshua did so. God provides just enough for us. The minute the Israelites were eating produce of t
Day 141: Leaving A Legacy Read: Psalm 119:9-16; Proverbs 1:24-26; 2 Tim 2; Joshua 3-4 2 Timothy 2:2-6 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops.” II Timothy 2:2-6 NKJV http://bible.us/114/2ti.2.2-6.nkjv This year when I went to China,I was talking to the locals there. I am proud to learn that they wanted to ensure that they leave a legacy to their children. They said they live not just to enjoy themselves but they want to have children so that their children will carry on the culture and traditions of Chinese. I thought this
Day 140: Abide In Christ Read: Psalm 119:1-8; Proverbs 1:20-23; 2 Tim 1; Joshua 1-2 Joshua 2:19-21 19 If any of them go outside your house into the street, their blood will be on their own heads; we will not be responsible. As for those who are in the house with you, their blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on them. 20 But if you tell what we are doing, we will be released from the oath you made us swear.” 21 “Agreed,” she replied. “Let it be as you say.” So she sent them away, and they departed. And she tied the scarlet cord in the window. The above incident depicted a beautiful picture on the concept of abiding in Christ. When the judgment was about to be executed, when one was in the house of Rahab, even though he or she was not a family member of Rahab, the person would not be killed. Similarly, when we believe in Jesus Christ, the promise is that He will abide in us as we abide in Him and hence, we will be able to escape the judgment of hell. Romans 10:9 says, “if
Day 139: Health is Essential Read: Psalm 118; Proverbs 1:17-19; 1 Tim 6; Deuteronomy 33-34 Deuteronomy 34:7,9 “Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor diminished. Now Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him; so the children of Israel heeded him, and did as the LORD had commanded Moses.” Deuteronomy 34:7, 9 NKJV http://bible.com/114/deu.34.7,9.nkjv It is good to note that Moses was still strong and his eyes were not dim even when he was 120 years old when he died. Further, Joshua was full of the spirit of wisdom when he took over from Moses. God has promised wisdom to those who ask. James 1:5 says, “But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God Who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.” Let us be wise to take care of our health as we serve our King of kings and Lord of lords. Be careful of the food we consume and
Day 138: Uphold Standard Read: Psalm 117; Proverbs 1:14-16; 1 Tim 5; Deuteronomy 31-32 Deuteronomy 32 50 There on the mountain that you have climbed you will die and be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people. 51 This is because both of you broke faith with me in the presence of the Israelites at the waters of Meribah Kadesh in the Desert of Zin and because you did not uphold my holiness (hallowed HIM) among the Israelites. 52 “Therefore, you will see the land only from a distance; you will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Israel.”” The above passage centers on the last moments of Moses whereby God spoke to him that he would not enter the Promised Land but could only see the Land from a distance. I don’t know about you but I feel terribly sorry for Moses. This shows the high standard of our God and yet nowadays we sometimes treat God just like a Santa Claus who lavishes on us unconditiona
Day 137: Choose Life Read: Psalm 116; Proverbs 1:11-13; 1 Tim 4; Deuteronomy 29-30 Deuteronomy 30:19-20 NKJV I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days; and that you may dwell in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.”” As of today’s reading, we can see God has laid both blessings and curses before us. We need to make a choice whether to obey Him or not. God has laid down clearly the consequences of our choices. He further reiterates that we are actually choosing between life and death. Moses urged the Israelites to choose life that the descendants may live to love the Lord, obey His voice and cling to Him for indeed God is our life
Day 136 - Jesus Wants All To Be Saved Read: Psalm 114; Proverbs 1:4-7; 1 Tim 2; Deuteronomy 25-26 1 Timothy 2:3-6 (NIV) 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior,4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.5 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,6 who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time. Note carefully here that it is God's desire and in fact, pleases Him that all people be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. That truth is Jesus being made our Mediator Who gave Himself as a ransom for ALL people so that all can be saved when they accept Jesus and willing to be ransomed by Him. How important then that we must open our mouth to tell this truth to as many people as possible. It is not that God is unable to do it BUT He has given us this privilege to work together with Him to save the world. Imagine, we are co-partner with the Lord of Lords
Day 135 - God Enables Us Read: Psalm 113; Proverbs 1:1-3; 1 Tim 1; Deuteronomy 23-24 1 Timothy 1 12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry,13 although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. Apostle Paul recognised that it is God Who enables him to be who he is - enabled him to be faithful so that he needs to continually rely on God. Paul recognised too that he was the worst sinner, hence humbling himself before God. With this perspective, He was eternally grateful and hence when he served God, it was all exuberated from his heart of gratefulness. Let us therefore, keep this perspective. Tha
Day 133 - Get Ourselves Ready and Be Prepared! Read: Psalm 111; Proverbs 31:25-27; 2 Thessalonians 2; Deuteronomy 19-20 2 Thes 2 3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. The second coming of the Lord shall be preceded by the above event when there would be a man of lawlessness who would exalt himself, proclaiming himself to be God. We are seeing some glimpses of such unfolding events leading to the aforesaid scenarios. Hence, we have to be prepared. Imagine! it will be a man of lawlessness which means he will perhaps ban all Scriptures as he wants all on earth to worship him as God and hence ban any other form of religion. We HAVE TO prepare and equip ourselves - at least keep God's Word
Day 134 - Be An Example, Walk the Talk Read: Psalm 112;  Proverbs 31:28-31; 2 Thessalonians 3; Deuteronomy 21-22 2 Thessalonians 3 6  In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us. 7  For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you, 8  nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you. 9  We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate. Deuteronomy 21 5  The Levitical priests shall step forward, for the LORD your God has chosen them to minister and to pronounce blessings in the name of the LORD and to decide all cases of dispute and assault. Paul exhorted the Thessalonians t
Day 132 - Do Not Presume Read: Psalm 110; Proverbs 31:22-24; 2 Thessalonians 1; Deuteronomy 17-18 “Now the man who acts presumptuously and will not heed the priest who stands to minister there before the LORD your God, or the judge, that man shall die. So you shall put away the evil from Israel. And all the people shall hear and fear, and no longer act presumptuously.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭17:12-13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/deu.17.12-13.nkjv Many a times, we carry out our tasks based on lots of presumptions. We thought we knew but they were based on the wrong premise. We have not checked properly as we have presumed the same. In the above verses today, we can see the seriousness of acting presumptuously - the person shall die! What a warning for us to heed. Hence, we should not presume that it is ok that we don't put God first when God has clearly in His Word says in Matthew 6:33 to "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added
Day 131 - Be Open to God Read: Psalm 109;  Proverbs 31:19-21; 1 Thessalonians 5; Deuteronomy 15-16 Psalm 109 “Help me, O LORD my God! Oh, save me according to Your mercy, That they may know that this is Your hand— That You, LORD, have done it! Let them curse, but You bless; When they arise, let them be ashamed, But let Your servant rejoice. Let my accusers be clothed with shame, And let them cover themselves with their own disgrace as with a mantle. I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; Yes, I will praise Him among the multitude.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭109:26-30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/psa.109.26-30.nkjv What a comfort to know that the Psalmist in the BIble prayed such a prayer as in Psalm 109. He was open to God and uttered his heart’s contents to God. I am sure all of us have gone through seasons of dryness where people seems to accuse us without justification and how we were victimised for no apparent reasons. Or we are so frustrated to see injustices being rolled
Lately, I have been very busy as there are 2 major celebrations...my father's 80th Birthday and my parent's 52nd Wedding Anniversary celebrations. Finally, today is the DAY. 9.9.17. I really thank God that His grace is truly sufficient for my parents. To see that they now have a chance to walk down the aisle is truly the amazing grace of God. It is so romantic that my father looked at my Mom during the session on Renewal of Vows and then he elegantly looked at the crowd. How I am thankful for my parents for their genuine love and their dedication to us, 4 siblings. My father, who was a salesman then, though travelled regularly did not fail to bring us with him during his outstation trips during school holidays. During those days, there were no MPV nor SUV and hence, all four of us would be "sardined pack "in a sedan car travelling whole of Peninsular Malaysia, but we still find those period of time so memorable and our childhood meaningful. All I want to say is that p
Day 130 - What A Glorious Hope Read: Psalm 108; Proverbs 31:16-18; 1 Thessalonians 4; Deuteronomy 13-14 1 Thessalonians 4 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord,w will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.x 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven,y with a loud command, with the voice of the archangels and with the trumpet call of God,a and the dead in Christ will rise first.b 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lorde forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words. What an encouragement to know that we have a better hope and we SHALL meet our dear Lord Jesus face to face. We shall be caught up together with the saints of old to meet our Jesus! Henceforth, whatever that is happening in this world, it should not shock us as believers as we DO KNOW
Day 129 - Build Up People Read: Psalm 107;  Proverbs 31:13-15; 1 Thessalonians 3; Deuteronomy 11-12 1 Thessalonians 3 7  Therefore, brothers and sisters, in all our distress and persecution we were encouraged about you because of your faith.   8  For now we really live, since you are standing firm in the Lord.   9  How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?   10  Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you again and supply what is lacking in your faith. How important that we care for the spiritual aspects of a person. How we need to encourage one another to grow in the faith! This is because this is our treasures in Heaven - people who are growing and loving the Lord! We need to supply what is lacking in their faith. How we need to love another and to build people up. Matthew 24: 12  said, "And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.” This verse is stated in M
Day 128 - Importance of Rules Read: Psalm 106;  Proverbs 31:10-12; 1 Thessalonians 2; Deuteronomy 9-10 “The LORD wrote on these tablets what he had written before, the Ten Commandments he had proclaimed to you on the mountain, out of the fire, on the day of the assembly. And the LORD gave them to me. And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to observe the LORD’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good? Yet the LORD set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today. Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer. Fear the LORD your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭10:4, 12-13, 15-16, 20‬ ‭NIV‬‬ http://bible.com/111/deu.10.4,
Day 127 - We Have a Powerful God Who Empowered us At All Times Read: Psalm 105; Proverbs 31:7-9; 1 Thessalonians 1; Deuteronomy 7-8 “We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father, knowing, beloved brethren, your election by God. For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance, as you know what kind of men we were among you for your sake.” ‭‭I Thessalonians‬ ‭1:2-5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/1th.1.2-5.nkjv Apostle Paul remarked the above when he wrote to the church in Thessalonica. What we can learn is that the church were faithful and were serving in love and were patient in anticipation in the hope of the glorious return of Jesus Christ. I guess they knew that the Gospel not only comes in the power of the Word but in the power o
Day 126 - No Longer Slaves To Sin Read: Psalm 104; Proverbs 31:4-6; Colossians 4; Deuteronomy 5-6 Deuteronomy 5-6 20 In the future, when your son asks you, “What is the meaning of the stipulations, decrees and laws the Lord our God has commanded you?” 21 tell him: “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand. 22 Before our eyes the Lord sent signs and wonders—great and terrible—on Egypt and Pharaoh and his whole household. 23 But he brought us out from there to bring us in and give us the land he promised on oath to our ancestors. 24 The Lord commanded us to obey all these decrees and to fear the Lord our God, so that we might always prosper and be kept alive, as is the case today. 25 And if we are careful to obey all this law before the Lord our God, as he has commanded us, that will be our righteousness.” God wants us to REMEMBER that we were slaves to sins before and that Jesus sacrificed Himself to bring us out of darkness to th
Day 125 - Jesus - Worthy to Be Worshipped Read: Psalm 103;  Proverbs 31:1-3; Colossians 3; Deuteronomy 2-3 “Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.” ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭103:1-5, 8, 11-12, 17-18‬ ‭NIV‬‬ http://bible.com/
Day 124: Jesus is Faithful Read: Psalm 102;  Proverbs 30:32-33; Colossians 2; Deuteronomy 1-2 Deuteronomy‬ ‭2:7, 36‬ ‭NIV‬‬ “The LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything. From Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge, and from the town in the gorge, even as far as Gilead, not one town was too strong for us. The LORD our God gave us all of them.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭2:7, 36‬ ‭NIV‬‬ http://bible.com/111/deu.2.7,36.niv Indeed, it was a miracle how the Israelites were taken care of by God when they were in the wilderness for 40 years.  In Deuteronomy 8:4, it was recorded that "For all these forty years your clothes didn't wear out, and your feet didn't blister or swell.” And in today’s passage, we saw how God watched over them throughout the whole journey and they lacked nothing. Not one town was
Day 123: What an Inheritance We Have in Jesus Read: Psalm 101; Proverbs 30:27-31; Colossians 1; Numbers 35-36 It is so good to make Scriptures as prayers. Why not say this prayers in Colossians 1:10-12 today? Prayers:- We continually ask You, God to fill us with the knowledge of Your will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,[e] 10 so that we may live a life worthy of the Lord and please You in every way: - bearing fruit in every good work, - growing in the knowledge of God, 11 being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might so that we may have great endurance and patience, 12 and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified us[f] to share in the inheritance of Your holy people in the kingdom of light. Amen. O! What a privilege that we share in the inheritance of God’s holy people. The Bible is clear that inheriting eternal life is synonymous with entering the Kingdom. At the judgment, the righteous will inherit the Kin
Day 122: Privileges As Leaders Read: Psalm 100;  Proverbs 30:24-26; Philippians 4; Numbers 33-34 Numbers 34: 16  And the  Lord  spoke to Moses, saying,  17  “These  are  the names of the men who shall divide the land among you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.  18  And you shall take one leader of every tribe to divide the land for the inheritance.  19  These  are  the names of the men: from the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh;... We saw how God instructed Moses to delegate the job. Further, God systematically selected a leader for each tribe to help Eleazar and Joshua. The names that we are familiar would be Joshua and Caleb. We knew how both Joshua and Caleb were faithful and courageous from the very beginning of surveying the Promised Land and now God gave them more duties as leaders. The principle in God's Kingdom is that God rewards faithfulness and consistencies. More privileges are given to leaders when more responsibilit
Day 121 - Let Us Be Encouragers Read: Psalm 99;  Proverbs 30:20-23; Philippians 3; Numbers 31-32 Numbers 32:9-12 “For when they went up to the Valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, so that they did not go into the land which the LORD had given them. So the LORD’s anger was aroused on that day, and He swore an oath, saying, ‘Surely none of the men who came up from Egypt, from twenty years old and above, shall see the land of which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, because they have not wholly followed Me, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, the Kenizzite, and Joshua the son of Nun, for they have wholly followed the LORD.’ From the passage above, we can take note of the consequences of discouraging fellow believers. The Lord's anger was aroused. To me this is serious. We are to do all that we can to please God. However, by virtue of discouraging any of our brothers and sisters in Christ, we may arouse the anger of ou
Day 120: Obedient and Submit to God Read: Psalm 98;  Proverbs 30:16-19; Phillipians 2; Numbers 29-30 " Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ that I have not run in vain or labored in vain. For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus. But you know his proven character, that as a son with his father he served with me in the gospel.” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:12-16, 20-22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/
Day 119: Privilege to Pray and Intercede Read: Psalm 97;  Proverbs 30:13-15; Phillipians 1; Numbers 27-28 “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:6, 9-11, 21-22, 27
Day 118: Do Everything With Our Utmost Best Read: Psalm 96; Proverbs 30:10-12; Ephesians 6; Numbers 25-26 Numbers 25:11 & 13 ““Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites. Since he was as zealous for my honor among them as I am, I did not put an end to them in my zeal. He and his descendants will have a covenant of a lasting priesthood, because he was zealous for the honor of his God and made atonement for the Israelites.”” ‭‭ Dictionary.com explains zealous as fervent, diligent, devout and passionate. All these attributes are God-honouring and very much advocated in the Bible. For instance, Apostle Paul said this in 1 Corinthians 26:13-14, "“Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you’ve got, be resolute, and love without stopping.” Henceforth, let us put in our heart, soul and mind in whatever our hands find to do and do it with our utmost ability as it not only pleases our Make
Day 117: Say and Do What the Lord Requires of Us Read: Psalm 95; Proverbs 30:7-9; Ephesians 5; Numbers 23-24 A Call To Worship “Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭95:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/psa.95.1-2.nkjv "So he answered and said, “Must I not take heed to speak what the LORD has put in my mouth?” “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it. “He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The LORD his God is with him, And the shout of a King is among them. So Balaam answered and said to Balak, “Did I not tell you, saying, ‘All that the LORD speaks, that I must do’?”” ‭‭Numbers
Day 116: Set Reminder Read: Psalm 94;  Proverbs 30:4-6; Ephesians 4; Numbers 21-22 “Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, “We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us.” So Moses prayed for the people. Then the LORD said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live.”” ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭21:7-8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/num.21.7-8.nkjv It is noteworthy that the Israelites who repented took an extra effort to make a fiery serpent and set it on a pole. It shall be a sign to remind them that whenever they look at the pole, they shall live. What a great way! May we have a sign just to remind us NOT to sin again in any particular weakness that we have. Let it serve as a reminder and to show to God that we are sincere to overcome the weakness and I verily believe God will honour us. God set the rainbow
Day 115:  Fear God  Read: Psalm 93; Proverbs 30:1-3; Ephesians 3; Numbers 19-20 ““Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.”” ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭20:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.” ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭ 20:11 ‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://bible.com/114/num.20.11.nkjv http://bible.us/114/num.20.8.nkjv “Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron, “Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.” This was the water of Meribah, because the children of Israel contended with the LORD, and He was hallowed among them.” ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭ 20:12-13 ‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ http://b
