Day 66:  Psalm 46, Proverbs 24:30-32, 1 Corinthians 2, Genesis 43-44 We Have No Excuse But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” I Corinthians 2:7‭-‬9 NKJV (http://bible.com/114/1co.2.7-9.NKJV) We heard so much about VIP, Very Important Person. As if this is not exclusive enough, VVIP comes about to bring in the elements of more importance and more exclusitivity. In Christianity, we are all VVIP when God has caused us to hear and see. In today's verses, it is clearly stated that these were prepared for those who love Him. On one hand, it is the Sovereignty of God to choose us but on the other hand, we need to love and respond to Him. We have no e
Day 65: Psalm 45,  Proverbs 24:27-29, 1 Corinthians 1, Genesis 41-42 What A Way To Correct Someone! I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ.. I Corinthians 1:4‭-‬7 NKJV (http://bible.com/114/1co.1.4-7.NKJV) We know that the church in Corinth at the time when the Apostle Paul wrote this Epistle, was in turmoil and in division. Yet, from today's verse, we can see that Paul was full of good words for them. He affirmed them in 5 ways: (1) thanked God for them (2)recognized that God's grace was upon them (3) acknowledged that they were enriched in everything by God (4) acknowledged that they were a testimony to God (5) acknowledged that they were a people with God's gift. What a revelation!
Day 64: Psalm 44,  Proverbs 24:24-26, Romans 16, Genesis 39-40 What Is Your Secret of Success? The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord  was with him and that the Lord  made all he did to prosper in his hand. Genesis 39:2-3 NKJV (http://bible.com/114/gen.39.2-6.NKJV) When we know someone who is successful, we usually like to know the secret of his or her success. Today, we read that Joseph son of Jacob was a successful man. His secret? The Lord was with him. But, it was not a secret. His master knew it as he saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper. This master was smart. He put him to be in charge of his house and from such time, the Lord blessed this Master's house as well. We, Christians are rightly to have the Lord's presence with us all the time. This means we should be successful and causing others whom we are in contact with to
Day 62: Psalm 42, Proverbs 24:18-20, Romans 14, Genesis 35-36 Have Absolute Faith In God But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin. Romans 14:23 NKJV (http://bible.com/114/rom.14.23.NKJV) We may be offended if someone does not trust us, especially if that someone is our loved one. Gaining trust is so important. Hence, our God emphasizes much on trust or faith. In fact, the Bible defines faith as the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It went on to show us great examples of our fore fathers who had shown such great faith in God, such as Enoch who was just taken away and did not taste death as he pleased God by his faith. He believed Him as Who He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Another great example is Noah, who being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemne
Day 60: Psalm 40,Proverbs 24:13-15,  Romans 12, Genesis 31-32 Wait Upon The Lord I waited patiently for the Lord ; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord .Psalms 40:1-3 NKJV(http://bible.com/114/psa.40.1-3.NKJV) I guess no one enjoys waiting, especially if the person whom you are waiting does not indicate to you when is the likelihood he or she will turn up. Our God wants us to wait patiently for Him as well. The difference is that while you are waiting for Him, He inclines to you. He gives you the assurance not only that He hears you but He sets your feet upon a rock and establishes your steps! He even put new songs in your mouth so that the whole process of waiting is a joyous and a cheerful one. This is our God, the Servant King Who loves us enough
Day 59: Psalm 39, Proverbs 24:10-12,  Romans 11, Genesis 29-30 Givers Gain And Laban said to him, “Please stay, if I have found favor in your eyes, for I have learned by experience that the Lord has blessed me for your sake.” Genesis 30:27 NKJV (http://bible.com/114/gen.30.27 NKJV) It will be nice if God blesses us. But if through us, others are blessed, it will be even greater. Here, we read an account where Laban knew for sure that God had blessed him because of Jacob. True blessings are not for us to keep. When God gave the promise to Abraham, He too said that He would make him a great nation and would bless him and make his name great. Further, he added this, "And you shall be a blessing" (Genesis 12:2). Whatever blessings and even trials that we go through, do remember to use them all for His glory and for the sake of the members of His body. The Apostle Paul said that the comfort he received from God during all his tribulation were used to comfort those who were in
Day 61: Psalm 41,Proverbs 24:15-17, Romans 13, Genesis 33-34 Owe No One Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. And do this, knowing the time, that now it  is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill  its lusts. Romans 13:8, 10-11, 14 NKJV (http://bible.com/114/rom.13.8-14.NKJV) I have seen some people enjoy bargaining until it is so terribly cheap for the vendor. Then, they will go round "boasting" about the fact that they have a good buy. However, beware! Are we doing the right thing when we "squeeze" someone for a discount? Or is it right when we delay in paying someone? In today's passage, God exhorts us to owe no one except the debt to love one another. Love does no harm to our neighbour
Day 58: Psalm 38,  Proverbs 24:7-9,  Romans 10, Genesis 27-28 Be Christ-like Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother and had gone to Padan Aram. Also Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan did not please his father Isaac. So Esau went to Ishmael and took Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife in addition to the wives he had. Genesis 28:7-9 NKJV I am sure all parents will love it when their children obey them. From the above verses, we gather that Jacob obeyed and went to Padan Aram. On the other hand, Esau who knew that his parents were not pleased with the daughters of Canaan still went to look for one and went ahead and married her, in absolute disobedience to his parents. We knew from history that Esau's descendants were Herod's family and how they wanted to kill baby Jesus. How important then that we must resist the temptation of any negative disposition to God or anyone who upholds anything that lifts up the banner of
Day 57: Psalm 37,  Proverbs 24:4-6,  Romans 9, Genesis 25-26 Do the Work of An Evangelist But they said, “We have certainly seen that the Lord is with you. So we said, ‘Let there now be an oath between us, between you and us; and let us make a covenant with you, Genesis 26:28 NKJV http://bible.com/114/gen.26.28.NKJV Abimelech came from Gerar with Ahuzzath, one of his friends and Phichol the commander of his army to meet Isaac. They said to Isaac that they could see that the Lord was with Isaac and hence wanted to make a peace treaty. Does our light so shine for God that people see Christ in us? That is the one of the reasons that we Christians are still on earth. We are to be ambassadors for Christ! The question now is are we fulfilling this appeal from God? The Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 that it is as though God were pleading through us: to be the ambassadors for Christ, to call people to be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to  be sin for us, t
Day 56: Psalm 36, Proverbs 24:1-3,  Romans 8, Genesis 23-24 What A Glorious Hope! For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to  be  compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. Romans 8:18 NKJV http://bible.com/114/rom.8.18.NKJV Imagine a scenario where life is doom and gloom. There is no more hope and it is a dead-end at the end of the tunnel. How do you feel? But thanks be to God. He is our Hope. While He was on earth, Jesus was continuously giving hope to His disciples just as in John 14 where He mentioned that His Father’s house had many mansions and He would go and prepare a place for us. He would come again and receive us to Himself. In fact, just before He was about to be crucified, His 3 beloved disciples were able to witness His transfiguration on Mt Tabor. Christianity is all about hope! We are waiting for His glorious return whereby He will not only reveal His glory IN us as promised in today's verse but He will also crown us
