Day 270: Psalm 85, Proverbs 11:25-27, Matthew 4, Isaiah 35-36
Fear Not
Fear or anxiety is a natural response of human beings. One may fear to address a crowd in public or like me, fear to have my teeth treated by a dentist. In the short term, fear or anxiety increases the heart rate so that more blood flows to the brain, preparing to face any intense situation. If it becomes excessive, physical and mental health can be affected. God knows and hence, He assures us not to be afraid as in today's reading, in Isaiah 35:4, "Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” The world may not let us have any certainty but with our Lord, we certainly have no fear.
