Day 253: Psalm 68, Proverbs 10:7-9, Revelations 9, Isaiah 1-2

Shine In Our Corner

History showed us that God had judged and destroyed 2 cities, Sodom and Gomorrah because of the wickedness of the people there. In fact, God was so gracious and merciful NOT to destroy ONLY IF there were 10 righteous people as interceded by Father Abraham (Genesis 18:16-33). But, we knew that even 10 righteous people were not found there and hence, God had no alternative but to totally destroy these 2 cities. In today's reading of Isaiah 1:9, prophet Isaiah knew that unless the Lord of hosts had left to them a very small remnant, they would have become like Sodom and would have been made like Gomorrah. How important then that we do our part to learn to do good, seek justice, rebuke the oppressor, defend the fatherless and plead for the widow (Isaiah 1:17). Yesterday, I heard a testimony of how an estate agent in Singapore pleaded 3x to the buyer to take back the undertable money. Day 69: Psalm 49, Proverbs 25:4-6, 1 Corinthians 5, Genesis 49-50 Do Our Utmost For His Highest Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; but  God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it  is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them. Genesis 50:19‭-‬21 (http://bible.com/114/gen.50.19-21.NKJV) When we hear stories of how the evil triumphs over the good, we are angry. If it happens in real life to us, we may question God. We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. Day 187 - Have Fear of God Read: Psalm 145; Proverbs 6:28-31; Revelation 6; 2 Samuel 15-16 2 Samuel 15 & 16 15:13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”14 Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that? This is our Bible - it will not hide - all the successes and failures of God's people are truthfully reported. Why did King David suffer this?
