Day 117: Say and Do What the Lord Requires of Us

Read: Psalm 95; Proverbs 30:7-9; Ephesians 5; Numbers 23-24

A Call To Worship
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭95:1-2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

"So he answered and said, “Must I not take heed to speak what the LORD has put in my mouth?”

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it. “He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The LORD his God is with him, And the shout of a King is among them.

So Balaam answered and said to Balak, “Did I not tell you, saying, ‘All that the LORD speaks, that I must do’?””
‭‭Numbers‬ ‭23:12, 19-21, 26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The background of the passage is that Balak sent Balaam to curse the Israelites but instead Balaam blessed them three times. This is because Balaam said he had to speak what God put in his mouth and to do what the Lord spoke to him. This should be the way to go - to totally say and do what the Lord requires of us! In fact, the very things He requires of us are for our good. He wants us to sing (worship Him) and be joyful and to have a grateful heart. in two studies with 243 total participants, those who were 10% more grateful than average had 17.5% more social capital and in some recent science shows that those who engage in gratitude practices have been shown to feel less pain, go to the doctor less often, have lower blood pressure, and be less likely to develop a mental disorder. Why wait any longer? Just do it! God is not a man that He should lie. What He said, He will do. #devotion #promisesofgod #obey #joyful #grateful #singing #worship https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
