Day 64: Psalm 44,  Proverbs 24:24-26, Romans 16, Genesis 39-40

What Is Your Secret of Success?
The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the Lord  was with him and that the Lord  made all he did to prosper in his hand. Genesis 39:2-3 NKJV (http://bible.com/114/gen.39.2-6.NKJV)

When we know someone who is successful, we usually like to know the secret of his or her success. Today, we read that Joseph son of Jacob was a successful man. His secret? The Lord was with him. But, it was not a secret. His master knew it as he saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord made all he did to prosper. This master was smart. He put him to be in charge of his house and from such time, the Lord blessed this Master's house as well. We, Christians are rightly to have the Lord's presence with us all the time. This means we should be successful and causing others whom we are in contact with to be successful as well. Are we? If not, as we go to church today, let us examine ourselves and pray like King David in Psalm 51:11-12, "..do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Day 69: Psalm 49, Proverbs 25:4-6, 1 Corinthians 5, Genesis 49-50 Do Our Utmost For His Highest Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; but  God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it  is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them. Genesis 50:19‭-‬21 (http://bible.com/114/gen.50.19-21.NKJV) When we hear stories of how the evil triumphs over the good, we are angry. If it happens in real life to us, we may question God. We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. Day 187 - Have Fear of God Read: Psalm 145; Proverbs 6:28-31; Revelation 6; 2 Samuel 15-16 2 Samuel 15 & 16 15:13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”14 Then David said to all his officials who were with him in Jerusalem, “Come! We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
