We Have No Excuse
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” I Corinthians 2:7-9 NKJV (http://bible.com/114/1co.2.7-9.NKJV)
We heard so much about VIP, Very Important Person. As if this is not exclusive enough, VVIP comes about to bring in the elements of more importance and more exclusitivity. In Christianity, we are all VVIP when God has caused us to hear and see. In today's verses, it is clearly stated that these were prepared for those who love Him. On one hand, it is the Sovereignty of God to choose us but on the other hand, we need to love and respond to Him. We have no excuse! God has revealed Himself through creation, our conscience, Jesus, the Saviour and God's Word, the Bible! For since the creation of the world, God's invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that people are without excuse (Romans 1:20).
