Abimelech came from Gerar with Ahuzzath, one of his friends and Phichol the commander of his army to meet Isaac. They said to Isaac that they could see that the Lord was with Isaac and hence wanted to make a peace treaty. Does our light so shine for God that people see Christ in us? That is the one of the reasons that we Christians are still on earth. We are to be ambassadors for Christ! The question now is are we fulfilling this appeal from God? The Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 that it is as though God were pleading through us: to be the ambassadors for Christ, to call people to be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to  be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Henceforth, be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist and fulfill your ministry (2 Timothy 4:5). We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
