Day 58: Psalm 38,  Proverbs 24:7-9,  Romans 10, Genesis 27-28

Be Christ-like
Jacob had obeyed his father and his mother and had gone to Padan Aram. Also Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan did not please his father Isaac. So Esau went to Ishmael and took Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebajoth, to be his wife in addition to the wives he had. Genesis 28:7-9 NKJV

I am sure all parents will love it when their children obey them. From the above verses, we gather that Jacob obeyed and went to Padan Aram. On the other hand, Esau who knew that his parents were not pleased with the daughters of Canaan still went to look for one and went ahead and married her, in absolute disobedience to his parents. We knew from history that Esau's descendants were Herod's family and how they wanted to kill baby Jesus. How important then that we must resist the temptation of any negative disposition to God or anyone who upholds anything that lifts up the banner of righteousness or holiness. Passing on to our next generation the beautiful virtues of Christlike-ness requires constant vigilance. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC (please click to view a visual)
