Day 282: Psalm 97, Proverbs 13:4-6, Matthew 16, Isaiah 59-60

Don't Let Sins Stand In The Way

By and large, people are doing good works to appease their gods with the hope to have life after death or to receive some kinds of rewards. In today's reading of Isaiah 59:1-2, it says, "Behold, the Lord ’s hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear". Hence,it is clear that we are separated from God because of our sins. No amount of good works will remove our sins. Someone who pleaded guilty will still need to be punished even though he or she does many good works. Freedom will only be achieved once the penalty of that sins is paid for. This is exactly what Jesus did - He who had no sins, died on the cross to pay for our sins to reconcile us to God. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26) Today, repent from your sins and put your faith in Jesus, the Redeemer of your souls. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
