Our Net Worth is Measureless

The trend now is to know your net worth. There is a way to calculate the value and even a special calculator to that effect. Seminars are even organised to teach about the importance of knowing your net worth. It is comforting to know that our Heavenly Father does not use a calculator to determine how much we are worth. He says in Matthew 10:29-31 that we are worth more than many sparrows. We are of immeasurable value! Even the very hairs of our head are all numbered. This shows how much we are loved and cared by God. Abraham Lincoln said this, “It is difficult to make a man miserable while he feels worthy of himself and claims kindred to the great God who made him." Hallelujah! We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
