Day 29: Psalm 9, Proverbs 21:16-18, Acts 9, Micah 5-6
Encourage, Embrace & Empower
And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple.
But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
Acts 9:26-27 NKJV

Barnabas means Son of Encouragement. He had truly lived up to his name. When people were still afraid of Saul and did not believe in him, Barnabas took him, stood by him, explained and justified for him to the apostles. We know now that Saul or more well known as Apostle Paul is one of the greatest servant of God whom God had used mightily. I wonder if Barnabas had not ENCOURAGED him and showed loving tender care and most of all, stood by him, do we have Apostle Paul today? Surely, God in His Sovereignty will do something else but the point here is the importance to encourage and embrace a  brother or sister. Let us do so as we enter into the 2nd day of Chinese New Year where we meet relatives, friends, neighbours, old class and schoolmates, ex-colleagues and business associates in our visitation from house to house. Let us ENCOURAGE, EMBRACE and EMPOWER one another. https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC (please click to view a visual)
