Day 20:Psalm 150, Proverbs 20: 19-21, John 21, Amos 3-4

Prepare Ourselves To Meet God
““I also withheld rain from you, When there were still three months to the harvest. I made it rain on one city, I withheld rain from another city. One part was rained upon, And where it did not rain the part withered.” ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Lately, we heard of drastic change of climate in certain countries. Countries that do not have snow before suddenly experience snow. We know Who is in control of the nature. Our Creator God Who forms the mountain and creates the wind (Amos 4:13). Today, as we read Amos, God withheld rain in one city but caused another part of the city to have rain. The Lord God was waiting for the people to return to Him. In fact, He was preparing His people to meet Him (v12). How about now? Are we taking heed of the drastic change of climate as an indication from our Lord God that we need to prepare ourselves to meet Him? How prepared are we? Have we thought seriously about God as we should about His nature, His holiness and His demands? He is our Just and Upright God whether we acknowledge Him or not. We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom.
