Day 145 - The Secret Success of a Leader
Read: Psalm 119:41-48; Proverbs 2:4-6; Titus 2; Joshua 11-12

Joshua 11
15 As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.

There is no doubt that Joshua was a good leader. Here we have a glimpse as to his secret of success. He was obedient to his mentor, Moses. The words used are, “left nothing undone of ALL that the Lord had commanded Moses”. To be a good leader, we must first obey our leader. As Christians, our leader is none other than our Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lord Jesus Christ. Are there areas in our lives that we ourselves have not been obedient to Jesus? Are we still struggling to to be obedient ourselves? Day 69: Psalm 49, Proverbs 25:4-6, 1 Corinthians 5, Genesis 49-50 Do Our Utmost For His Highest Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; but  God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it  is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them. We may go around feeling very miserable, angry and unproductive. However, Joseph in the Old Testament did not have such feelings but instead he went about doing his best in whatever tasks given to him, knowing that God is in charge and in control. We must flee, or none of us will escape from Absalom. We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that? This is our Bible - it will not hide - all the successes and failures of God's people are truthfully reported. Why did King David suffer this?
