Day 141: Leaving A Legacy
Read: Psalm 119:9-16; Proverbs 1:24-26; 2 Tim 2; Joshua 3-4

2 Timothy 2:2-6
And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. And also if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops.” II Timothy 2:2-6 NKJV http://bible.us/114/2ti.2.2-6.nkjv

This year when I went to China,I was talking to the locals there. I am proud to learn that they wanted to ensure that they leave a legacy to their children. They said they live not just to enjoy themselves but they want to have children so that their children will carry on the culture and traditions of Chinese. I thought this is interesting as Bible teaches us to entrust to faithful witnesses who are able to teach others as well. In fact, Apostle Paul exalted and reminded us that such tasks are not easy BUT we must persevere and press on to ensure we will leave Christians' legacy and values to the next generations by the following: (1) endure hardship (2) focus as a spiritual warrior and hence will not be entangled with carnal affairs (3) we must love to please our Chief Jesus Christ (4) follow strictly the rule and herein lies our Bible and (5) be diligent. It is worthwhile for us to follow these 5 principles to finish the Race set before us, the rewards of which shall be glory that is to be revealed in us (Romans 8:18) #devotion #legacy #discipline #warrior #soldier #athletics #farmer #diligence #faithful #witness https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
