Day 140: Abide In Christ
Read: Psalm 119:1-8; Proverbs 1:20-23; 2 Tim 1; Joshua 1-2
Joshua 2:19-21
19 If any of them go outside your house into the street, their blood will be on their own heads; we will not be responsible. As for those who are in the house with you, their blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on them.
20 But if you tell what we are doing, we will be released from the oath you made us swear.”
21 “Agreed,” she replied. “Let it be as you say.” So she sent them away, and they departed. And she tied the scarlet cord in the window.
The above incident depicted a beautiful picture on the concept of abiding in Christ. When the judgment was about to be executed, when one was in the house of Rahab, even though he or she was not a family member of Rahab, the person would not be killed. Similarly, when we believe in Jesus Christ, the promise is that He will abide in us as we abide in Him and hence, we will be able to escape the judgment of hell. Romans 10:9 says, “if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Pray that anyone who is still hesitating to make the confession and believe in Jesus, will do so now. Amen. #salvation #heaven #hell #Jesus #abide #devotion https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
