Day 111: Liberated to Live Right
Read: Psalm 89; Proverbs 29:16-18; Galatians 5; Numbers 11-12
“For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”
Galatians 5:13-14, 24-25 NKJV
“But while the meat was still between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was aroused against the people, and the LORD struck the people with a very great plague. So he called the name of that place Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had yielded to craving.”
Numbers 11:33-34 NKJV
All of us have cravings - it is just a matter of the degree of the cravings. I am glad that I did not have any strong cravings for some particular things or food during my two pregnancies even when some consider as normal for pregnant women to have some strong cravings. Today's passage stipulates very clearly that we have been called to liberty. We have the freedom and true freedom enables us to choose the right things to do. We are no longer slaves to sins nor are we in bondage of uncontrollable cravings. Numbers 11 accounted for the incident of how God was angered by the Israelites complaint as their cravings for meat was so strong that they said they would rather had gone back to Egypt to be slaves again as long as they would had meat to eat. Let us take heed that we have been set free to choose the narrow ways which will lead us to everlasting life and joy in the Lord forever. Let us remember we have been liberated to live right before God! We are redeemed to reign with God! Amen. #devotion #liberty #freedom #cravings #live #choice https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
