Day 44: In His Time

Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue. And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—that they might accuse Him. Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?  Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”  Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other. Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.

Jesus said to the man who had a withered hand to stretch out his hand. This seems to me a paradox. Surely, in his condition, it will be difficult if not impossible for him to stretch out his hand. But, from this passage, we knew this man did what Jesus told him to do. Then, the miracle happened that his withered hand was restored as whole. Another point to note is that this man went to the synagogue. If he was still wallowed in self-pity, he would have no opportunity to meet Jesus. How we must have faith to do what God asks us to do even though it may seems difficult to do in our present condition. We must also continue to faithfully attend church to praise and worship God despite whatever situation we are in. Praise and thank God anyway! He will make everything beautiful in His time (Eccelsiastes 3:11). https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC
