Day 160 - Be Good & Faithful Servant
Read Psalm 119:161-168; Proverbs 3:30-32; Hebrews 13; Judges 17-18
Hebrews 13
20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,
21 equip us with everything good that we may do Your will, working in us that which is pleasing in Your sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
We now come to the final Chapter of Hebrews. The author of Hebrews has written a beautiful prayers as above and we can learn that when God calls, He will.....
(1) provide for us [God provided Isaac for Abraham]
(2) equip us [God started to equip King David even when he was a shepherd boy]
(3) prepare us [God prepared the way for Moses to lead His people out]
(4) qualify us [God sent Joseph way ahead to Egypt to save His people]
(5) enable us [Queen Esther was enabled to have the courage to face the king]
God will always provide us with all we need to fulfil His calling. It is not about our ability but about our availability. God will guide us every step of the way (Isaiah 58:11). If God is for us, who can be against us (Romans 8:31)? No one who hopes in God will ever be put to shame (Psalm 25:3)! No one who follows God wholeheartedly will ever regret it (Isaiah 49:23)! May we be found faithful fulfilling God's will and plan for us for His plans are to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Today is the funeral of the late Rev Billy Graham’s private funeral service which will be held at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina. While the funeral service is private, the public can watch a live stream beginning at 10 a.m. ET. The service itself is scheduled to begin at noon ET.
