Day 21: Psalm 1, Proverbs 20:22-24, Acts 1, Amos 5-6

Seek To Please God and Not Men
"Take away from Me the noise of your songs, For I will not hear the melody of your stringed instruments. But let justice run down like water, And righteousness like a mighty stream." Amos 5:23-24 NKJV

I am not sure what your fear is. As for me, I fear that whatever I do or say, is not acceptable to my Creator God. Hence, my daily prayer is that found in Psalm 19:14 that says, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer." In today's reading, we can see yet another example of how God abhored the so-called worship of songs and melody from the string instruments. All God wanted was JUSTICE and RIGHTEOUSNESS. In fact, the aim of a true minister should be one that echoes what the Apostle Paul said in 1 Thessalonians 2:4 that, "just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who examines our hearts." May we do and say what pleases our Lord and not men, just like Enoch who by faith was taken up so that he would not see death and HE WAS NOT FOUND BECAUSE GOD TOOK HIM UP for he obtained the witness that before his being taken up he was pleasing to God (Hebrews 11:5). https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC (please click to view a visual)
