Day 19:Psalm 149, Proverbs 20:16-18, John 20, Amos 1-2
We Are Assured of Justice From God
This is what the Lord says: “For three sins of Israel, even for four, I will not relent. They sell the innocent for silver, and the needy for a pair of sandals. They trample on the heads of the poor as on the dust of the ground and deny justice to the oppressed..." (Amos 2:6-7)
We usually hear that God loves us. That is absolutely true and there is absolutely no doubt about God's love for us. But, we must never forget that our God is holy. He will execute acts of righteousness and justice as well. In today's reading of Amos, we can see how He would not relent but executed justice against Israel, Judah and all the neighbours' countries. Hence, we are assured of justice from our King of kings and Lord of lords. At the same time, God requires that we execute justice as stated in Micah 6:8, .."O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?". Let us do what is right and just which is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice (Proverbs 21:3). https://twitter.com/EstherOngHC (please click to view a visual)
