Day 166 - Inheritance That Can Never Perish

Read: Psalm 124; Proverbs 4:13-15; 1 Peter 1; 1 Samuel 4-5
1 Peter 1
v3&4 - In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.
This inheritance is kept in heaven for us, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

What a promise! Believers in Christ have an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in Heaven safely for us and are even shielded by God's power.  As it is declared as an inheritance, it means that it is given to us as of right by virtue of our position as the children of God. It is not by work and cannot be taken away. John 1:12 says, "to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—". Wait no longer. Believe in Jesus and you will be the children of God, the Creator of this whole universe. We can call Him Abba Father and our inheritance of eternal life is kept safe and even shielded for us by His power. Hallelujah! We must leave immediately, or he will move quickly to overtake us and bring ruin on us and put the city to the sword.” To me, as a parent, it is so sad to note that King David got to run for his life from his own son, Absalom. His own son schemed for 40 years (15:7) to topple his own father - could you believe that?
